1988 Melrose Rugby 7s - American Football Try

Emil Signes: The year is 1988, the team is the Cougars, an invitational team organized by Keith Seaber that I was coaching in the Melrose Sevens (Scotland), famous as being the first sevens tournament *ever*; the place where sevens rugby was invented (1883).

We had practiced this play, which we called "Unitas," would later call "Marino". At any rate, you need no description of the penalty play from me; it comes off exactly as practiced. Hike from Mark Williams to Tommy Smith, pass to Brian Vizard who gives it to Barry Williams for his patented sidestep plus speed ... Still love it!!
